Gina Severin, MA, LPCC, ADDC
Pronouns: she/her

Hello, I’m Gina (she/her). I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and Addiction Counselor Candidate (ADDC), and I’m passionate about supporting individuals and families as they navigate trauma, mental health challenges, and major life transitions. My goal is to create a warm, grounding, and culturally responsive space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered in your healing.

I completed my Master of Arts in International Disaster Psychology at the University of Denver, where I specialized in trauma and global mental health with a concentration in humanitarian aid. Throughout my training and career, I’ve had the privilege of working in outpatient mental health, integrated care settings, community-based organizations, and mood and anxiety treatment centers. I’ve supported diverse communities in Denver and abroad.

I work with adults, adolescents, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, identity development, relationship challenges, stress, and substance use concerns. As a queer clinician, I am especially committed to providing an affirming and identity-centered space for LGBTQIA+ individuals to explore and heal.

My therapeutic approach
I take a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs and lived experiences. My work draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. I also integrate somatic approaches—including Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy and Somatic Parts Work—to support body-based healing. Additionally, I incorporate elements of strengths-based practices to help clients build resilience and move toward meaningful change.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new places like a local coffee shop and spending time with my dog Maple. I look forward to partnering with you in your healing, growth, and self-discovery.
