One Starfish Coaching and Consultation
Kyrzia Parker
Founder / CoachKyrzia Parker, MSW (she/her) is a Social Worker and Founder of two businesses: One Starfish Counseling and Supervision/ One Starfish Coaching and Consultation. She created these businesses as a place where people come to heal, grow, and explore. A reflection of her belief that meaningful change begins with compassion, courage, and connection.
The name One Starfish comes from Loren Eiseley’s The Star Thrower, a story that reminds us that even small acts of care can create powerful ripples of change. This philosophy guides Kyrzia’s work both in coaching and leadership: every person matters, and every story deserves to be witnessed.
In a coaching framework, Kyrzia is an ICF Level 2 trained coach specializing in supporting highly motivated and functional individuals wanting more. Kyrzia typically works with perfectionism, shame and identity development. Her approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, integrating modalities such as; Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Coaching, and Solution-Focused Coaching. She is also trained in The Daring Way™, based on Dr. Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability, courage, and shame resilience.
Kyrzia identifies as a white, straight, disabled, cisgender, bilingual, second-generation American. She shares her identities intentionally -- to foster transparency, model authenticity, and acknowledge how she shows up in the coaching space. Deeply committed to equity and inclusion, she continuously engages in reflective practice and professional education to better support marginalized communities.
In addition to her clinical work, Kyrzia has extensive experience in school-based social work and community advocacy. As a Douglas County Schools Board Director, she remains passionate about strengthening systems of care for youth, families, and educators.
Kyrzia lives in Castle Rock with her two young children. She believes that when we lead with empathy and curiosity, we create the conditions for both growing and hope.
